18/16 Weeks

Not too much more to write about. I had my doctor's appointment Monday (thanks Laura for reminding me....I forgot to post!). I have seen the same doctor three times in a row - there's 5 (I think at this practice) and I'm supposed to see them all before May. The doctor I was supposed to see was called away for an emergency C-section, so good ol' Dr. Flynn was the only one available. Not that I'm complaining - he's been with us from the beginning and I really feel comfortable with him. This time there weren't any problems finding the heartbeat - in fact the nurse looked at me a couple of times to see if I felt the humongus blip that would interrupt the heartbeat. I guess little Paul Daniel was wide awake and kicking at that time! :) Dr. Flynn talked to us about the results from our visit with Duke, and said that they will probably monitor me pretty closely during the 3rd trimester because of my bicornuate uterus. I guess there's a chance of premature delivery - the joys of having a rare uterus. I was never "normal" anyway! LOL
Overall I feel great - just trying to fight every little bug that comes my way. I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and thought "oh no, here we go again!!" but apparently it hasn't become a full-blown cold, thank goodness! I'm beginning to feel little flutters when I lay very still - no kicks or punches yet.

glad your doc visit went well... I was beginning to wonder what you found out. It won't be long now before you will REALLY know there is a baby there! LOL.. You might ask the doctor if you could take something like ecanasea (don't ask me how to spell it)...it's a herb that helps strengthen your immune system, or if it would be okay to take vitamin C, even though you're on prenatal vitamins. Those things might help.

Maybe Dr. Flynn will be the doctor on call when you deliver - When I was pregnant, there was only one doctor in the practice, so I didn't have that to worry about. And, with Laura, my doctor didn't even get to the hospital on time and I had no idea who the doctor was -- just someone hanging around I guess! Mom
