Today was my LAST day of school until next fall. Feels kind of weird saying it that way....but what's so wonderful is that it is true! :) I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and Dr. Flynn took one look at my legs & feet and said that he had no problem giving me a doctor's note for short-term disability. I am officially on modified bed rest. I've lined up my subs for the week that school starts again after Easter break and then talked to my replacement (Mrs. Wester) today who is EXCITED to be teaching again, so that makes it really easy to hand the reins over to her.
Dr. Flynn did measurements and estimated that Paul Daniel is now about 6 1/2 pounds, which floored me. I didn't think he would weigh that much at this point, since they're supposed to gain a pound a week. Um.....do the math....that's a BIG baby!!! I haven't felt any contractions - fake or otherwise, so I think you're safe to go to Disneyworld, Laura. :)
I had my last baby shower today at work and was overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone - I have a lot of nice things, and now I'll actually have the time to figure out where to put everything! :) It just feels so weird to come home and not have anything that I have to do for school tomorrow! I know I'll be busy with other things, and that's what I'm SO looking forward to. So glad I saved those sick days! :)

Why am I not surprised that today was your last day? Did you beg the doctor to write that note??? (probably!) With your replacement being so excited to be back teaching again (she must have some senility, huh) it sounds like a win-win situation. Uh, Becky, don't tell Laura she's "safe" just yet... on my last doctor's appt before I had Shawn I asked them if they thought I'd go soon and they checked me and said nope.... I went into labor just HOURS later! So.... it can change in a minute! Rest up, girl, cuz you're gonna need it! I'll see you tomorrow....
