Why is Barry Manilow going through my head right now?? "Looks like we made it....." That seems to be the anthem that creeps in my head whenever I feel like I've accomplished something! What a year it's been - I think about how fast it all seemed to go and then I think how much this little guy has changed over the course of this year. It truly is amazing - and I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for this wonderful, precious gift. Paul Daniel is SUCH a joy to watch each and everyday...even through his "grumpy times"!!
So we've got some plans for the next week or so to celebrate his birthday - I'm taking the day off today so that I can clean and get ready for the main party tomorrow. We're having about 20 or so people come through tomorrow.....the people invited were my mom and dad, Adam's mom and Tom, Beth, Kelly, and Shawn, Laura and Kai, Joseph and Arielle, John, Blanca and Alexander, Uncle Reggie, Nancy and Johanna, Angela (who is going to be driving up tonight from Ga).....Just a "small" gathering of closest family - where everyone will sit is still a mystery, but it shouldn't be too bad. Mom and Dad loaned us 20 chairs, and it will be nice with the deck opened (just make sure the cats aren't around!). I ordered a huge cake from a friend, Terry, who does awesome work and the cake will be chocolate icing with yellow cake (must have the chocolate!!), and she's making him an individual cake to dig into. We'll have ice cream as well and just enjoy our time together! I ordered a big banner and plates, napkins, etc online, and the banner will be signed by everyone. Pictures will be posted!!!
Monday he has his first year appt at the pediatrician....by the way, he will have to get tubes. But the good thing is that we can wait until the summer after school is finished to worry about that.
Saturday, we are going to get his first year pictures made, and he will get to dig into yet ANOTHER cake for the occasion. What a lucky little guy - TWO cakes!! :)
Well, I am sitting here not getting anything accomplished....pictures will be posted after tomorrow's excitement!

What a wonderful birthday party for Paul-- even though there was some mixup of the time for some people! :-) Can't wait to see the pictures from the "2nd 1st birthday party"! I know Paul won't mind the 2nd cake!! It sure has been an amazing year. And we've got so much more to look forward to!
