Last Wednesday (Aug 26) Paul Daniel had a fever - at first we thought it was due to teething, but after talking to the nurse at the pediatrician's office, they wanted to see him. They thought it was too high....turns out that it might have been a virus he caught from day care, but they're not really sure. The doctor gave him Tylenol, and by the time he woke up for his feeding (I think it was around 2am that time) his fever had broken. When they weighed him, he was at 13 lbs, 14 ozs.
I took him in on Monday for his 4 month appt. and he was at 13 lbs, 15 ozs....so MAYBE by now he has hit the 14 lbs mark! :) He was given the second round of vaccination (I still think that they should give them all by mouth!), and I talked to the pediatrician about my concerns - we can give him cereal now, so I'm going to start having the daycare give him some rice cereal in the morning. Adam's mom has been giving it to him the past couple of times she has watched him. One thing that they were somewhat concerned about was the lack of strength in his neck - how he's unable to hold his head up for a sustained period of time, and the lack of strength in his arms to hold himself up. Apparently he needs more tummy time, so I'm making sure that whoever is watching him during the day gives it to him when he's in a good mood. They wanted to see him back in another month.
For the past couple of days he has NOT been in a good mood in the morning - by the afternoon he has some MAJOR BMs, so I guess he's kind of getting backed up in the morning. Poor little guy. Meanwhile, this has all been a major adjustment for me - it's not so bad leaving him in the morning when he's with either of the grandma....but leaving him at daycare is SOOO HARD. Now that school is back in swing, I'm really struggling finding the time to get it all done - I spend as much time as I can with Paul Daniel in the evenings and by the time he goes down at 9:00pm, I'm so tired I don't want to do any work. But I guess I'm just going to have to suck it up!!!

Hang in there, Becky. The hardest part is adjusting to a new schedule and it can be energy draining until you get into that routine again. Once you do, it will go better, especially as Paul Daniel gets older. Make sure you eat right and take vitamins. That will help you stay healthy and (fairly) energetic (I'm being realistic here). I'm looking forward to seeing you all again soon (maybe Saturday at mom and dad's????) I need my PD fix! :)
Girl, I feel your pain!!! That first year of teaching after Natalie was born was TOUGH. Tough in the sense that I had an extremely hard time wrapping my brain around being a mother AND a teacher. I just couldn't get my head in the game! The good news is...IT DOES GET BETTER AND EASIER! My philosophy is...I really want another baby but God may not see fit to bless me with one, so I have and will continue to soak up EVERY MOMENT I can with the most precious gift from my Heavenly Father had given me!! School is what it is...
